Before the wind, three groups of horses lived in Harmony. Though many differences were there, peace existed in the land. Until the Wind came. It blew into the land, coaxing the dead ground into existence. It blew in the smells, the fears, the joys, the pains, and all other things the tribes know today.
One of the tribes was not pleased. Lead by Sain, they ran to the Shadows, a place the wind had not blessed yet. They stayed in the darkness, hating the Light that the Wind blew in.
The second tribe, led by Diablo, retreated to the end of the world, were everything was the same as before. Though the Wind had graced them with the senses, they preferred to stay in between the others, not loving or shunning the wind.
The final tribe led by Aeilla stayed in the now fertile lands. They respected the Wind for everything it brought into the land. The lush lands felt like home to the horses, who basked in the Light of the Wind.
So, three tribes went their separate ways. Even though they co-existed peacefully before, everything changed. Sain's tribe grew to loath the Light, and stayed in the Darkness of the world. They soon would be called the Tainted Souls. Diablo's tribe had no opinion of the world, and just existed as before. That action would lead to the to be called the Confused Souls. And Aeilla's tribe began to fear the Darkness, for it seemed to grew more hateful toward them. But they still lived with the Wind, causing them to be later called the Pure Souls.
After many years, Aeilla tried to re-make the peaceful setting they lived in before. She tried to persuade the Confused one's to live in the valley of the Light. But not to be defeated, Sain tried to bully them to join the Darkness. Diablo's tribe was torn between two old friends, and seemed to disappear from the face of the land.
That one action caused a constant battling. Aeilla thought Sain had killed the Confused one's, so she went to great lengths to battle Sain. Sain blamed Aeilla for converting all of his soon to be minions, and battled to get them back. The war raged on and soon the two leaders died, leaving the sides clueless. With no leaders, what should they do? But they continued the war, making many casualties.
Decades went by and the war still raged. Most everyone didn't know what the battle was about, but they still fought. Soon, two descendants arose from the fight. One was of Aeilla's bloodlines, a young mare named Syicl. Another was of Sain's bloodlines, a brute named Ambicioso. The two would soon meet in an unexpected turn of events, and would decide the fate of the entire land.
