There was a ghastly silence cast upon the forest, but a sudden change in the wind caused a groan among the trees. A dark silhouette stood watching the creatures of the night scamper about in search of a snack, without a care in the world. Yes indeed, there was a nice thing about being as stupid as a rodent, but then she considered the penalty of stupidity of living in a hole. Death. She knew rodents lived short lives because of predators and natural disasters. Perhaps for an equine who had held themselves high in the world would appreciate life lived long, but not her. There were some times she had wished of death to come upon her, but it never saved her from this nightmare.
Shifting uneasily, she forced herself to toss such thoughts aside and try to sleep. For many long nights she had not been able to sleep, something was keeping her from drifting away. A new thought aroused in her mind, could it be that loneliness? Could that terrible lonesome feeling she had carried with her for years finally started to catch up with her? There was a perfectly good reason she could be afraid, for these nightmares were like no others, bloody and painful. She felt everything she was hit with in these nightmares, from falling off cliffs to being skinned slowly, and even having her heart ripped from her chest. They were horrifying, any would dread sleep if they had these dreams to live and relive every night. She didn't want to even try to keep going on and arguing with herself, so she turned to find a spot to rest for the night. Finally, she found herself drifting away from life into a darkened world she so dreaded every night.
Running. From it? To it? She wasn't sure. She kept moving, gazing at everything along the way. It was all so big for some reason, A horrible screech came from the sky. An owl. A screech owl. She paused with fear, watching as it came. Closer, Closer. She couldn't move her feet, and then looked down at the tiny pink paws. Then, Darkness.
Another screech caused her to leap almost halfway out of her skin, and she saw a screech owl perched comfortably on a broken tree limb. Now she was comforted by the fact that his screams before had leaked into her dream and she hadn't been the one producing the long raspy shrees. The dream ment nothing, or did it? She feared the fact of going back to sleep, perhaps the nightmares would start to come back again since they had stopped a while ago. This nearly petrafied her, but she managed to stand herself up and heave a long sigh. Casting a harsh glare at the owl, she walked up to the tree and reached up to grab the bird by the talon and succeded.
Her teeth clamped down into the dried up toe, and she could hear the owl screaming to get free. Once she tasted the blood, she let go of him and allowed him to leave her presence. He was marked now by her, his talon nearly torn off as he flew away. That would teach him. She tossed her crania in defiance and turned away from the spot, the metalic taste of blood still stuck in her mouth. She didn't care for the taste of blood, murder wasn't the first thing on her fun list, nor was attacking but she did it anyways. It was as if she didn't care but she was being controlled by something inside her, being held against her will.
Pride glanced around as the scent of another entered her nares. It was nearing dawn, and a thick fog began to roll in and hung in the trees. She confidently approached the direction from which the scent came from, and something caused her heart to speed up, perhaps it was the thought of who it might be, or who it wouldn't be. Whatever the answer, she would have to decide whether it was friend or foe. The fog seemed to clear a bit so she could see him, and that instant she knew who the brute was. Sorad Deacion. Normally she would feel dizzy around such a powerful steed, but she seemed overwelmed with confidence and approached him casually. As she came close, she lowered her dial and stretched one leg out into a deep respectful bow to him. Rising up once more, she allowed her lyrics to chill the morning air.
'Lo M'lord Sorad, tis a great honor to be in the presence of ye.

[ Fab Post, Really Love it DP ! Remeber the audition goes all the way through though, so keep it up ! ]
xl..Crimson hues were sharp as hidden steel lurking in th' protruding fog that surrounded th'm both. 'E was there all right, 'is evil presence was sure to give 'im away beneath th' densely packed mist o' th' coming weeks o' autumn. 'ow 'e longed for it to get 'ere quicker, for 'e loathed summer with a vengeance. Occulars were so scarlett fueled, twas th' first ye would notice 'bout this almsot too important steed. They glinted, like shimmering valuable rubies, within th' flowing eeriness that was th' dank, dank, foggy winds. Ah, this was what 'e loved. Darkness, pain, gloom, everything that made 'is kingdom look more sufficient. Ir boosted 'is own 'appiness also, for 'e culd see no good, nor evil, in sunlight..lx
xl..Twas time to make 'imself shown. 'E 'ad spent too long as nothing but a dark shadow within th' fog, that was now wrapping 'round 'im effecively to show off 'is next to nothing boundaries. 'e was King of all, Shadowed Leader, Dark Lord, whatve'r ye wished to acknowlege 'im as. 'e was Sorad Deacion indeedl, that would always stand. Moments passed as 'e puased afore th' vixen for effect, silence erupting like an unaudible volcano. Th' tension was sizzling, for twas amost unimaginable to see such a high placed 'quine such as 'e in front o' a mere mortal such as Darkened Pride. Yet, 'e was slightly impressed 'E was not blind, nor was 'e stupid. 'e 'ad sen everythin'. Th' way sh' attacked that owl was most admirable in 'is hues, yet 'e woud n'er let this be known for all 'e was worth. It accidentaly showed in 'is glowing occulars though, yet 'e was blissfully unaware. Twas respectful 'ow sh' 'ad not killed th' owl o' such, but allowed it more pain by surviving, though th' excruciating feelings it must've been witnessing. This was more satisfactory for 'im, for some creatures would rather die than feel pain, th' wimps. This gave them more discomfort, an' in Sors case, gave 'im joy. Eventually 'is strong vocals cracked th' eerie silence like a gunshot, bold yet silkily casual, although a mysterious smirk lingered 'pon 'is lethal kissers. Raven pletage shimmered even in th' meagre light, an' 'is han'some structure stood so intimidating an' powerful in front o' 'er..lx
Yes, but that tis what they all say..

(Thanks, I'm really sorry I haven't been on every day, but I started school a few weeks ago and they're starting to give more and more homework... I'm trying to get on as much as I can, even if it is at nine PM. I love your posts too! They are always perfect, lengthy and detailed!)
She waited through the silence, keeping everything about her the same, proving she was intimidated by him but she would never show it. With delicate sonar curved neatly in his direction, she craned her nape to let stray tassles drift lightly over her muddy hued optics. When a glint of something other than malice shimmered in his own eyes, she felt a shiver run down her spine while she gazed at him. A slight breeze tugged at her ebonite banner as she listened to his lyrics. Her serious expression turned to a smirk upon her maw and she allowed a bit of laughter to escape her vocals before speaking to him once more.
Perhaps.
She said thoughtfully. If an equine had approached him and said the wrong thing it would surely be a disaster. Quickly, she thought of the correct words to follow her last statement.
But it makes me wonder, how many of those sun-kissers have come to you willingly just to say hello?
She said with a sly smirk, wondering what his response would be. If she was to earn respect for herself from the darks she would have to have a close alliance with her leader. She kept herself calm and her voice steady, as if she were speaking with any other. A shadow passed overhead, and her curiosity forced her to glance up to see the lone screech owl still trying to find a new perch. He seemed dazed and shocked at what had happened only minutes before, and she knew he would have trouble landing with his foot badly mangled from her teeth. It was then that she realized the taste of its blood still lingered within her mouth, but she did nothing but look back to Sorad and felt her nares quiver.
Watching him closely, she waited for his reply patiently. She did not have many characteristics the typical dark had, she had more manners. As time went on, she forgot them and had begun to grow greedy and rude. Still, she knew there were things about her that needed much improvement but for now she had everything down. Pride wanted nothing more than to find somewhere she really belonged, and she knew now that the life of the shadows was what she needed. Since she had been told by the stag of her new alliance, she felt much more like her old self. Not happy, but a dark happiness of some sort had filled a large gap in her life. For once she had a feeling that she was in the right place.

[ Thank Ye, And Thats OK DP, I DO Understand Where Your Coming From. School HAS To Come first With everyone for Definet, but even twice a week is Fine for me, so long as everyone gets on each week at all. Your a great member DP, I Really value you and your posts ] xl..Yes, Twas most definet that a certain spark was lighting up in th' endarkening atmosphere atween th' two. Nomatter 'ow much Sor might 'ave tried 'is best to denie it with fierceness or casual empathy, they were certainly extremely alike. This sure vixen seemed to be very knowing o' 'erself, which was rather refreshing in todays world. Sh' was co.cky, smart, fierce an' ummistakeably brave. Yet, Sor knew 'e could not make a decision so quick, especially when many more femmes would request note on their chances o' Queen. No, not until all where forsaw, would 'e decide so hastily..lx
xl..'E did rather like 'er spirit though. Even though twas so early on, 'er mannerisms were impressive, an' well sought after by Sorad. 'is lady must be fierce, yet great enough to recognise that sh' was now th' leader o' Shadows alongside Sorad 'imself. This, 'e thought, was expected by 'im to be frightful to Darqs. But so far within days 2 wenches 'ad came to 'is whim. This, expectantl, made 'im swell proudly, for 'e was a desiring figure, 'e knew. Darkened Pride was also a beauty in th' crimson fueled hues o' this darq King. Sh' was so.. ideal. This time 'e ferociously tossed 'is well chiselled skull to rid th' irritating thought from 'is mind. Trying to distract 'imself 'e turned 'is desired attentions to th' owl whom look deeply discomforted. A singular untorn talon curled limply 'round a limblike hollow branche that carved deep marks o' battering from th' wind, rain an' hail that twas Darq weather. Its pools were wide with pain an' fright, as if death could be a real posibility an' 'ope. Sorad Deacion smirked, for 'e felt relief in th' poor creatures pain..lx
Those filthy Scared pettyfools Find it 'ard to say boo to a weakened goose than Confront me..
xl..'e snorted 'is disgust as 'e spoke so dangerously o' those Light beings that 'e despised. Yet 'e seemed to swell with satisfaction that just 'is mere presence could do such a thing to another living being. Fearful was not a description that would be known as false for this Darq Lord, even Allura, nor Canyonne could not denie that. Back in th' days when 'imself, Allura an' Canyonne were so close, so firmly friends, so peaceful to th' world, seemed like on'y yesterday in th' hues o' Sor. It made 'im think neverth'les, an found 'imself thinking, once or twice occasionally, 'ow things would be today if their firnedship still stood. Yet, oth'r times, 'e felt revolted at th' mere thought o' finding aquantance in th' pathetic beings they were, for Canyonne was also not a hig class being in Sors hues. Can always wanted to be independant, n'er seeking alliance with Sor, nor Allura for that matter. This angered Sorad immensly, an' knew Can was definelty an enemy. As for Allura, well, sh' was Light Queen. N'er would they be anything other than enemies. Sors hues suddenly resembled th' overcast look o' reminiscence, an' found 'imself shaking th' thoughts from 'is mind once again. This time 'e practically bellowed th' lyrics in irritance, punishing 'imself for thinkign such thoughts..lx
So I take it ye are 'ere For ye 'ave 'eard I seek a Shadowed Queen to accompany myself in all things Darq ?

(Oh my gosh... my mind is soooo out in space right now. Did you hear about Steve Irwin the Crocodile Hunter and how he died? I'm really sad because he was like... A really great guy and he didn't deserve it one bit!)
She couldn't help but smirk at his remark, swishing her ebony banner over tawny hide. Her sonar danced upon her head, catching every bit of sound in the forest around them. A distant bird chirping and a few other unidentified noises here and there. The words he spoke were true, the way she saw them, the lights weren't even considered equines. Such insolence angered her, just thinking about it made her shiver, how had she been born into a herd of them and turned out the way she did? She forced these thoughts away and gazed into the depths Sorad's pools, though hers were still glazed and hollow.
Her auds swirved around to catch his nearly bellowed words, and she realized that this was what had been pulling her into these woods. She hadn't realized it until now, but that was what she had come here for. Sorad was not just a stallion in a high position in her eyes, he matched her personality and was perfect mate material. She nodded without hesitation, showing him she was confident and ready to prove herself if needed. She parted her lips to allow cold lyrics into the atmosphere.
Yes m'lord, that is my reason for being here.
Narrowing her eyes slightly, she wondered why he had asked. How did he know of her desire for a mate when she hadn't? She then remembered of his powers, probably allowing him to see things she couldn't.
I have been pulled here by an unknown force for many nights, and now I've found you where my travels have brought me. Could this be a sign?
Or had it been him pulling her there? She blew through her nares and waited for his reply, curious to see what he would say. Perhaps he would approve of her becoming the Shadowed Queen, but rejection could be just around the corner. She knew many mares would be after him also, for he was desirable. There were many other mares who were starving for power and a high position, not just a mate. This very thought absolutely discusted her.

[ Yeh I Heard That ! EVERYONE Was Talking About It In School Today, But I Didn't Believe Them.. Until I Got Home.. ] xl..Looking at 'er smirk like that on'y tempted 'is own blackened kissers int' a curviture o' a smile, almost pure, yet not quite making it. This fae was somehow.. different from th' oth'rs that used to flock 'round 'im so unwanted. 'e was sometimes even sure that Stazeal 'ad made a foolish mistake with some, possibly Lights in 'is way. This made 'im unexpectedly snort with distaste, not worried whether Darkened Pride saw this as rude or not. 'e was 'is own person, nothing would ev'r change in that sense. Yes, this femme was all 'e ev'r wanted. Even in th' days when 'im an' Allura were closer than aquaintences sh' was.. no.. no, that twas th' past. Th' past should n'er envelope th' present so unwillingly. 'e changed 'is thoughts back to th' beauty in front o' 'im, an' kept th' smirk strong on 'is venomous lips..lx
Yer thoughts can invite ye anywhere, just remember that.. If ye think o' some fantasy place that no one 'as 'eard o', ye can always seek it in yer dreams..
xl..'is occuli were some'ow more hazier an' dreamlike than afore, as if 'e were on a distant place. The were considerably lighter, almost umber in paintage. That quickly changed though as 'e realised 'ow pathetic that sounded coming from a Darq Lord. Th' lyrics were almost Light to touch, an' this would be a bad way to let Darkened Pride see 'im. 'E disguised those meaningful lyrics with 'is usual way o' misplacing 'is true feelings, aggresion an' irk..lx
Aye, ye are 'ere, like so many oth'r petulant femmes unworthy o' my time..
xl..This was truly uncalled for behaviour from Sor, an' if 'e were to be honest 'e really did not mean th'm. 'is alluring facade was now contorted fiercely, as if watching an injured prey angrily for letting it get away. They did not seem to be focusing on Darkened Prides own hues, almost deliberately in that sense. Th' silence tainted th' beloved autumn atmosphere int' almost visible particles, an' th' gales were blowing vicious in there wake..lx

Her gaze shifted slightly, as she seemed to look over his expression when he spoke. Raising a brow, she watched him curiously, wondering why these almost gentle sounding lyrics had just echoed through her sonar. They sounded almost familiar, like something her fatherwould have said. She almost couldn't bear to think about him. He was pathetic, weak, and useless in her eyes. The same thought that always came back to her entered her mind once more, how had she come from such insolent bloodlines? She almost shook her head to rid these bone chilling thoughts, but resisted.
She listened once more as he returned to his old attitude and shot out the cold words she had been drawn to since she first heard him speak. The feeling made her quiver, just listening to him. His rudeness caused joy for her, and amusement also. Almost immediately after he finished speaking she came up with the perfect thing to shoot back at him.
Oh I'm the unworthy one?
She said, sarcasim edging into her tone. Managing to chuckle a bit with malice, she began again, still in a joking tone.
And what might I ask, does that make you m'Lord?
It was then that she noticed he wasn't exactly looking into her optics, but past them. Pride stood silent for a moment, wondering if he was taking her seriously. That would be a disaster. Maybe she had gone too far with her sarcasim. She began to regret saying anything to him, thinking at any moment he could turn on her. Despite her regrets, she kept her smirk and waited for him to say something, anything to break this silence.

xl..Valuable lyrics o' th' endarqened femme seemed to resound like a purposeful echoe 'round th' now immense gales that were fiercely taunting th' Darq Kings wild raven feathers. 'Is well sculpted nape was still turned in th' opposite direction from Darkened Pride. Crimson pools flickered momentarily t'wards 'er own raher confused looking hues, an' this caused 'im to rethink 'is actions. 'E did not think Darkened Pride unworthy, not at all. So what was th' cause for th' sudden outburst ? In Sors occuli o' neverending flame paintage, a fae more worthy o' 'is time was far an' found. Sh' was standing right there in front o' 'im. Yet 'e could not bring 'imself to let 'er know. Stubborn as a mule, 'e refused to look 'er in th' hues as 'e retaliated with that irked voice that was too all too familiar to those in connection with this steed..lx
And That is who I am.. To you, an' all th' others that are named my followers... Th' Dark Lord
xl..'e 'ad now overtaken a more business like approach to th' fae, as 'is nape arched grandly an' 'is visonaries now retaliated to searing Darkened Prides own with 'is smouldering gaze. For a second it seemed 'e was softening under 'er radiant gaze, but nothing could ev'r do that to 'is reputation, not even this beautiful maiden. Taking composure, 'e announced rather gruffly o' 'is leave. 'E took a mighy step to th' left afore saying 'is goodbyes.. for now..lx
Now I must Go.. I shall let ye know in due course if ye are worthy to be Queen Darkened Pride.. until then, fae, goodbye..
xl..'E stood waiting for 'er to reply for a moment or two, 'is evil stare looking questioningly at 'er for a response. But inside, 'e was ignoring as best 'e could th' fact that Queen Darkened Pride sounded like music to 'is 'arks..lx
